Apocalyptica

Four classically trained cellists from Finland play the music of Metallica and other heavy metal bands in one of the more bizarre cross-pollinations in the music scene today. And the crazy thing is, it works. Apocalyptica somehow manages to maintain the energy of hard rock using the harmonious, melodic tones that they produce on their cellos. Their metal cover songs and original compositions have won them the admiration of hard-core rockers, as well as classical buffs and people who just like good music.
