Scuola Grande di San Rocco

When this building is seen from the outside it is nothing special. Yet if you step inside one of Venice's least visited and therefore most peaceful edifices you will see something that you will never forget. The walls and ceilings on both floors are covered in huge, magnificent canvases by Tintoretto, who dedicated some 25 years of his life to embellishing the already richly decorated halls with some of his greatest works. These artworks have been replicated through many of the Restaurants in Venice. Other works by Titian, Tiepolo and Giorgione make this one of the best visits in town.

Magnum Millennium

The world's foremost photographic agency mounts an exhibition to celebrate the end of the 20th century. As a new era dawns, 'Magnum Millennium' looks at the world and shows how the agency's photographers have interpreted events since the agency's creation just after the Second World War. The work of such luminaries as Robert Capa and Henri-Cartier Bresson will be on display in a unique opportunity to see this critical, subjective and artistic view of a changing world.

J Mascis & The Fog

After years of relative silence - which has done little to relieve him of his slacker-defining reputation - Dinosaur Jr's main-man and guitar-god J Mascis is back as a solo act and doing what he does best; writing the perfect angst-ridden pop songs and then drenching them in distortion. Old fans know who they are and will be there. Potential fans must know this - without J there wouldn't have been a Nirvana...

Godspell

It's the show that broke all the attendance records when it first came to Boston's Wilbur and it's back in Boston for a limited run at the Schubert Theatre. 'Godspell' is the musical that tells the Gospel according to St Matthew in a rather updated, contemporary manner. Music by Stephen Schwartz including familiar songs like 'Save the People', 'Day By Day' and 'Prepare Ye'. Stephen's son Scott Schwartz directs the production.
